Here are some redwork designs that I drew based on a fabric I am using to redecorate my kitchen. I’ve added a scan of the fabric at the bottom. [...] Here are some pictures of a black crepe evening jacket I made with embroidery in silk ribbon, perle cotton, and beading on the lapels (all in black, although the seed beads were actually clear with a black tint to them). The picture quality is really terrible. Its difficult to photograph black-on-black pieces effectively. On the [...] I started this project by spending about a week studying and making sketches from photographs of tropical fish and other creatures. I then made a loose sketch of the overall design. I started with a piece of royal blue medium weight canvas fabric (not embroidery canvas) and spent about 4 hours bleaching and overdyeing it [...] One wet autumn day I was driving down a local road that I had driven hundreds of times.
